At 2:30 pm on Jan 19, 2011, more than 80 CDP members held a rally in front of the Capitol Hill. “Inform Hu,Jintao: Chinese people want human rights! Chinese people want democracy!”, strongly protest CCP persecuted CDP member Hong Li to death! Chairman of China Democracy Party, Proprietor of “China Democracy Journal” Wang,Jun made important speech at the rally.
The Chinese government always underplays or beats around the bush on human rights issues. CCP focus solely on improvement of human rights on international occasions, and find many reasons to prove wide human rights enjoyed by the common people. Official media controlled by Chinese government only report positive said of human rights, as if no human rights problems exist in Chinese society. In fact, for the masses living in China, a certain number of them have no idea of human rights, even when they are persecuted by the government and trampled on their human rights by officials.
Human rights are basic rights for everyone to live and develop freely and equally. The Chinese constitution has detailed and well-round regulations to guarantee human rights of the masses, which stipulates that basic rights of citizens are embodiment of human rights. Why regulations to protect human rights can’t guarantee basic human rights of people in reality? The fundamental reason is the rule of men governed by one party dictatorship in Chinese society, the constitution is just gingerbread and tool to deceive and oppress common people.

He called on the American government and international society to continue support CDP and all efforts made to improve human rights in China.

Wang,Jun pointed out at the rally, that improvement of human rights in China not only relies on the constitution, rule of law under independent judiciary, but more important relies on practical action of the government. Only when officials and common people are equal in front of law can have basic conditions to improve human rights.
Chairman of China Democracy Party, Proprietor of “China Democracy Journal” Wang,Jun spoke at the rally, he said, Chinese President Hu,Jintao’s state visit to the United States is an opportunity and we want to tell Mr. Hu,Jintao: Chinese people want human rights! Chinese people want democracy! Today, CDP members come to the Capitol Hill and call on the Congress and Congressmen as well as international society to concern human rights in China.
Wang,Jun said, for many years, CDP members have been trying to improve human rights in China. As the chairman of China Democracy Party, I have been invited to attend human rights report and public hearing held by the Congress, and spoke on the hearing on behalf of CDP, I praised the American government’s positive attitudes on human rights in China, and effective work of the Congress and Congressmen to push forward and improve human rights in China; criticize CCP’s long term trample of human rights, requested the CCP to follow the “Universal Declaration of Human rights” issued by UN, stop persecution of people who appeal, dissidents and religious people; stop persecution of CDP members. In the meantime, I called on the American government and international society to continue support all efforts to improve human rights in China.
Wang,Jun pointed out, improvement of human rights in China not only relies on the constitution, rule of law under independent judiciary, but more important relies on practical action of the government. Only when officials and common people are equal in front of law can have basic conditions to improve human rights.
CDP member Wang,Yana made speech on behalf of rep. of Chinese Victims League Ge,Lifang who couldn’t attend the rally. The speech expressed, strongly request Shanghai government to solve grief legally, openly, and equally, return our homes and property, and uphold justice. We take the chance to call on all righteous forces overseas and democratic organizations to act together, and maintain focus on Chinese people who lost freedom and suffer tortures by CCP tyranny, actively rescue them, and especially pay attention to heroes like Gao,Zhisheng, Guo,Feixiong, Hu,Jia, Fan,Yafeng, and Chen,Guangcheng, and don’t let them to be the next Li Hong!
