Strongly protest CCP persecuted the member of CDP Mr. Li, Wangyang
Picture 1: At eleven o’clock on September 6, 2011, more than two hundred CDP members went to the Chinese Consulate-General in NY to hold a rally of “Strongly protest CCP persecuted the member of CDP Mr. Li, Wangyang” in the heavy rain.

At eleven o’clock on September 6, 2011, more than two hundred CDP members went to the Chinese Consulate-General in NY to hold a rally of “Strongly protest CCP persecuted the member of CDP Mr. Li, Wangyang”, “Strongly request CCP to release all the CDP members in prison immediately” in the heavy rain. The chairman of China Democracy Party and proprietor of "China Democracy Journal" Wang,Jun participated the rally and made a speech. A few CDP members made presentations on the rally.
Li, Wangyang was born in 1950, original worker in Hunan Shaoyang glassworks, unmarried and his personality was doughty. He was the member of CDP, the earliest stirabout of China’s independent trade union and veteran leader of workers’ movement. In 1983, he organized “Support workers” in Shaoyang. He participated in the movement of democracy in 1989, working as the chairman of the union of workers in Shaoyang and he was sentenced of thirteen years after the massacre of “June 4”. He was sent to Shaoyang Longxi prison in Hunan and suffered cruel torture, and after a while, he lost labor capability totally and even could not walk.
Longxi prison was one of the cruelest prisons in China, and Li, Wangyang suffered the cruel torture and he did hunger strike. Jailors unclenched his mouth to pour the food; as a result his two teeth were unclenched to fall down. The prison destroyed Li, Wangyang’s body totally and he contracted illness of hyperthyroidism with his eyeballs extruded and vision fell down quickly. In the end, he lost the walking capability gradually. In 2000, Li, Wangyang walked out of the gate of prison with the hold up of others.
After his out of prison, he was very weak, even could not provide for himself completely; only his sister Li, Wangling and her husband Zhao, Baozhu took care of him. At the beginning, Li,Wangyang still imagined to cure illness, but serious illness ,torture sequela, and huge medical costs crushed his dream soon. Li, WangYang had to choose to continue to fight to keep back to justice. He called his sister Li,Wangling, brother-in-law Zhao,Baozhu carried him to the front of the Municipal party committee and government in Shaoyang to do hunger strike, asking to solve a petition medical and life issues. A lot of people crowded around him and the international community reported this event widely.
In May, 2011, the CCP authority suppressed China Democracy Party members heavily, so he was sent into prison again with this excuse when it was less than one year after his releasing. He paralyzed because of cruel torture in the prison and he was sentenced of ten years for the second time because of getting justice. China Democracy Party member Li,Wangyang was sentenced to torture again, getting to blind by CCP, survived the long 10 years imprisonment. On May 5, 2011, China Democracy Party member Mr. Li,Wangyang went out of the prison "alive" for another time. Li, Wangyang has been blink with total paralysis because of CCP’s torture.

Picture 3: After his releasing, the activists of democratic movements at home and abroad tried their best to contribute money to him. The chairman of China Democracy Party and proprietor of "China Democracy Journal" Wang,Jun received the appeal of CDP member Qian, Yongmin in mainland about CDP member Li, Wangyang ‘s releasing and calling for CDP members domestic and overseas to contribute to him, and Wang, Jun made response quickly. The first humanitarian contribution of $1050 was sent to CDP member Li, Wangyang from the Western Union in NY in US on May 14, 2011. On August 10, 2011, the headquarter of CDP received a thank letter from Li, Wangyang’s sister Li, Wangling by the means of CDP member Qin, Yongmin and the content of letter was that Li, Wangyang has received the contribution of Wang, Jun.
