CDP Chairman Wang, Jun participated in the ball fundraiser for refugee boys held by Burma Relief
Sep 19, 2011 (Monday), Burma Relief held the Burma Ball fundraiser at Friars Club at 57 East 55th Street in New York City to benefit Burmese refugee boys living at the New Blood Migrant School in Mae Sot, Thailand, on Burma’s border. On the invitation of the host of the ball-Jeremy Taylor of Burma Relief, Chairman of China Democracy Party and the proprietor of “China Democracy Journal” Wang,Jun lead more than ten CDP members and journalist of “China Democracy Party” to attend the ball in the evening.
Burma is a civilized country, with long history, and it has experienced three dynasties of Pugan, Dongwu and Gongbang, after it’s uniting in 1044. On Jan 4, 1948, Burma declared independence and built up the Union of Burma. In Jan1974, it was named as “the Union of Myanmar” and changed the name into “the Union of Burma” in Sep 1988. The social system in Burma was monarchy, governed by senior military general appointed by the king.
The ball was co-hosted by bestselling author Naomi Wolf, Academy Award nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, and acclaimed actor and activist Esai Morales. There were special musical performances by world-renowned pianist Rosa Antonelli and pop/classical singing sensation Elizabeth Tryon. About forty guests from all quarters of the society attended the ball.
Chairman of China Democracy Party and the proprietor of “China Democracy Journal” Wang,Jun was keen on charity for a long time and he said to the press “Burma is a neighboring country of China and one of the un-developed countries in Asia. There are many refugee children asking for assistance and it’s very meaningful to make use of this opportunity to donate to refugee children.” Mr. Wang, Jun and other members donated $1200 for the refugee children.
