At 4:00PM of February 15, 2012, more than fifty CDP members held a congregation in front of the United States Capitol, calling on the American government, the Capitol and the international community to pay attention to the CDP member Mr. Zhu, YuFu, and strongly demand the Chinese Communist government to immediately release the CDP member Mr. Zhu, YuFu; also demand the Chinese Communist government to perform the separation of the executive, legislative and judicial powers in China.
One of the founders of CDP and important CDP leader in Zhejiang, Mr. Zhu, YuFu, after serving two sentences for nine years in prison, was once again severely sentenced for seven years in prison by the Chinese Communist government on February 10, 2012 in the name of “instigating the subversion of the state political power”.Mr. Zhu, YuFu was sentenced because of his words. On January 14, 2011, the President dictator Ben Ali fled from Tunisia, indicating that the 23 year autocratic regime has been overthrown by the Tunisian people. Enlightened by the Jasmine Revolution, the Egyptian people launched a large scale of anti-government protest.Consequently, on February 11, 2011, the former Egyptian President and dictator Hosni Mubarak was ousted after the demonstrations, after his almost thirty-year presidency.Thereafter, “Jasmine Revolution” developed quickly and extended to every corner of the world. In February, 2011, the CDP member Mr. Zhu, YuFu published a poem, named <it is about time>, to express his support of the Jasmine Revolution in China. That is the reason why Mr. Zhu, YuFu was arrested again by the Chinese Communist government and sentenced for seven years in prison.Freedom of speech is one of the basic human rights, and the constitution has to include some articles that ensure the freedom of speech of ordinary people. Presently, China is an authoritarian society run by the Chinese Communist Party, not a society ruled by law.The law in China cannot ensure people have the basic human rights of speech freedom; on the contrary, the Chinese people have no freedom of speech. The fundamental point of freedom of speech is that everyone has can express his thinking and talk freely, no matter whether or not his words is beneficial to other people, or to the stability of a society, or to the governing ideology of the authorities.Freedom of speech is a natural human right that cannot be deprived. In modern-day China, the Chinese people are under strict restrictions from the Chinese Communist government, which prevents them from talking and writing freely, some of the ordinary people even became convicts because of their words. The separation of executive, legislative and judicial powers is the basic prerequisite for the implementation of freedom of speech, and a society ruled by law can ensure the basic human right. Therefore, without a society ruled by law, an independent judicial system, monitoring and restraining on the government’s power, the freedom of speech cannot be protected.Today, the CDP members held a congregation in front of the Capitol, on the occasion of the vice President of China, Jinping Xi, visiting the U.S; and called on the American government, the Congress and international community to impose pressure on the Chinese government, and pay special attention to the CDP member Mr. Zhu, YuFu, who has been sentenced once again by the Chinese Communist government; strongly demand the Chinese government to immediately release the CDP member Mr. Zhu, YuFu; strongly demand the Chinese government to immediately release all the arrested CDP members, as well as all the dissidents, human rights guardians and religious people that have been arrested.
