At 6:50 am, Zhao went to the hospital room, seeing Li, Wangyang hanging on the window. Putting all the media reports together, the police said there were many doubts about Li, wangyang’s suicide:

First, Li, Wangyang did not have motives and signs to commit a suicide. Li, Wangyang’s relatives and friends had confirmed that they never had any idea of committing a suicide. Li, Wangyang was a very optimistic man, and his health condition was changing better, friends were collecting money for his illness. On June 4, Li, Wangang’s friend Zhu, Chengzhi, who just had a long talk with him, told media, “I cannot believe this. Wangyang is a high determined person. Even he has to suffer a lot, he would endure rather than ending his life.” Li, Wangyang’s brother-in-law Zhao, Baozhu said that Li, Wangyang just told his sister that he wanted to buy a radio to stimulate his weak hearing left ear. Before June 4, interviewed by Hongkong iCale, Li, Wangyang encouraged Tiananmen mother Ding, Zilin to insist, and expressed that he never felt regret. He said, “It is everybody’s responsibility to help China achieve democracy. In order to let China enter into a democratic society, in order to let China has a multi-party system as soon as possible, I would never felt regret even being killed.”

Second, the on-site evidence is insufficient to support the statement of committing suicide. A picture came from the scene showed that one side of the ribbon was tied on Li, Wangyang’s neck, the other side was tied on the window frame, and did not see the ribbon tight Li, Wangyang’s neck, and Li, Wangyang’s facial features were normal. Li, Wangyang’s feet touched the floor and slippers were still on his feet. There was no common sign of struggling while hanging to death. From a video of Hongkong iCable reporter’s interview, Li could not walk without people’s help, plus Li, Wangyang was blind and almost deaf. Where the ribbon came from still remained a question.

Third, the police forbidden relatives and friends to take pictures and took away the body. According to a report, Zhao, Baozhu and Zhu, Chengzhi confirmed that after the case, relatives and friends asked Shaoyang police to take full pictures of Li, Wangyang, But the police refused, and also took away the body at 10am. Many friends tried to stop but could not. The local police in Hunan also stopped many activists to go to Li, Wangyang’s home to understand the situation. All these actions made people doubt that the police were trying to cover something. Since before June 4, several local national security staff guarded Li, Wangyang, and did not withdraw at the time of his death. The reason of Li, Wangyang’s death was very puzzling.
