The Activity of Supporting New York Community Leader Ms. Martha to Elect for State Legislator
                            ---Community Chinese actively participate in United State’s Democracy Practice  

From 2pm to 4pm on July 3, 2012, New York famous Community leader, the 22nd Assembly District leader Ms. Martha (Martha Flores-Vazquez), her activity of running for New York State Legislator was held in the office of China Democracy Journal. The Chairman of China Democracy Party and Proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang, Jun gave a speech; over 50 people from all walks of life attended this activity.  

Ms. Martha is a very enthusiastic community leader. Over the years, Ms. Martha serves the community, serves the people; many people in the Community have gotten her direct help. Ms. Martha makes unremitting efforts in communicating the relationships between different ethnic groups, different cultural backgrounds, different belief systems, and also other national works of letting people understand and help each other. In 2010, Ms. Martha got a lot of support while running for New York City Legislator.

While Ms. Martha is in the position of New York Community leader, she is also the founder of Community Prevention Alternatives for Families in Crisis, conducts the research named project of family crisis prevention and anti-trafficking, this mainly including talking about the topics, such as “How to face family crisis”, “How to solve family crisis”, “How to prevent family crisis and against human trafficking”. She makes great achievement in the researches of containing genocide behavior and fighting against violent crime, such as anti-human trafficking, world widely. In April 2011, Ms. Martha received the government recognition certificate issued by the New York State Legislature.

The 2010 New York City outstanding community leadership award winner, Chairman of China Democracy Party and Proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang, Jun, is long-term interested in public welfare, he is Ms. Martha’s supporter. In his address, Mr. Wang, Jun said, “Warmly welcome the well-known community leader, the 22nd Assembly District leader Ms. Martha (Martha Flores-Vazquez) and her friends.” Mr. Wang, Jun made it clear that he and the China Democracy Party under his leadership would support Ms. Martha in her campaign for New York State legislator.  

Mr. Wang, Jun briefly explained the difference between tyranny and democracy. He said, “Only under a democratic and free system, can people have the right to vote, can the government officials who are elected by people really work and speak for people. Under an autocracy system, people have no right to vote, and have no chance to be involved in election. Today, all the Chinese friends attending the meeting can experience the election under a democratic system, can have face to face communication with government officials, and can make any suggestions, even criticisms. Of course, our goal is to let China achieve democracy, letting Chinese civilians have the right to vote.”

Ms. Martha (Martha Flores-Vazquez) made a warm speech on today’s activity. She said, the office of China Democracy Journal was the first station of her propaganda for New York State legislator election campaigns. As a community leader, she hoped that whoever was in difficulty in the community would get her help. The door of community is open to everyone, she was looking forward to communicate with everyone here today, she was willing to hear the voice from every corner, and this was also a driving force for her to serve the community. Ms. Martha said, two years ago, she lost in the election campaign for New York City legislator; two years later she came back, but for the election campaign for New York City legislator. She wanted to get a better chance to serve the community and people, and hoped that people would support her as usual.

Ms. Martha also said, “Your difficulty is my difficulty. If you need any help, I will come for you. Thank you for the support from Mr. Wang, Jun and everybody, thank you for attending this meeting, thank you for your support. Let us all cherish this opportunity, jointly safeguarding peace and supporting justice.”

Mr. Wang, Jun proposed that those who participated in this event make contributions to Ms. Martha’s election campaign. At last, Mr. Wang, Jun donated a $500 check on the behalf of China Democracy Party and China Democracy Journal.
