--------Strongly Protest the CCP Government Persecuting CDP Members and Dissidents
On Sep 4, 2012 at 11:00 am, nearly 200 hundreds China Democracy Party (CDP) members gathered in front of Chinese Consulate General in New York, and launched a rally in the theme of “Strongly Protest the CCP Government Persecuting CDP Members and Dissidents!”, “Strongly Protest the CCP Putting an Important CDP Leader Yufu Zhu in Prison!”, and “Strongly Urge the CCP to Release an Important CDP Leader Yufu Zhu!”. The Chairman of China Democracy Party (CDP) and the president of China Democracy Journal, Jun Wang, attended the rally and made an important speech.
Mr. Zhu, Yufu is one of the founders of China Democracy Party, who was born on Feb 13, 1953, and is now 59-years old. Zhu acts as an important CDP leader in Zhejiang province. He established a democratic publication “Apr 5 Monthly Magazine” in 1979; in June, 1998, he actively participated in the preparatory work of CDP. Yufu Zhu, Donghai Wang, Yilong Wu, and Shuqing Chen firstly applied for registration of CDP Zhejiang Preparatory Committee, and after the establishment of CDP Zhejiang Preparatory Committee on Jun 25, 1998, they went on the street to send out leaflets titled “The Declaration of the Establishment of China Democracy Party Zhejiang Preparatory Committee”, then Zhu, Yufu was the first one to be arrested and locked up for 48 hours. On Nov 8, 1998, Zhu was elected as secretary-general of CDP Zhejiang Preparatory Committee, and the Chinese National Preparatory Committee member. On Sep 15, 1999, he was arrested by CCP regime and sentenced for 7-years imprisonment with 3-years deprivation of political rights, in the name of “Inciting subversion of state power”, and being released on Sep 15, 2006. In April, 2007, Zhu was charged of “interference with public servant” and sentenced for 2-years imprisonment by CCP regime, and was released on Apr 18, 2009.
On March 5, 2011, Mr. Zhu, Yufu once again being took away from home by CCP police, and under arrested in the charge of “Inciting subversion of state power”. The police also took away Zhu’s computer, cell phone, articles, and books. Zhu was charged with “Inciting subversion of state power” by CCP on Jan 17, 2012, and on Jan 31 around 9: 00 am, he was on trial for “Inciting subversion of state power” again. On Feb 10, 2012, Mr. Zhu Yufu, who had been in jail for 9 years, was heavily sentenced by CCP government for 7 years.

The Chairman of China Democracy Party, and the president of China Democracy Journal, Jun Wang, made a speech in the rally, in which he said that as to the sentence CCP government made to Mr. Zhu, the purpose of the CCP government was clear that to constrain people’s speech by penalty. When Zhu was imprisoned and under CCP’s monitor, he wrote a poem to support Jasmine revolution in China. Just because of the poem, CCP government sentenced Zhu again for 7-years, that’s obvious incrimination of speech.
Wang pointed out that all the incriminated CDP members in recent years are sentenced in the charge of “Inciting subversion of state power” by CCP government. CDP members such as Xi Chen, Wei Chen, and Yufu Zhu were being arrested, put in prison, and sentenced in the charge of “Inciting subversion of state power”, who all advocated to promote democracy political reform in China under Chinese constitution. All these sentences made by CCP are obvious “rule by man” judgments. Since there is no transparency and credibility in Chinese politics, so China needs an independent Judicial system under the separation of powers, in order to implement rule by law, instead of rule by man. Thus, adequately protect Chinese people’s basic human rights as well as right to speech.
Today, China Democracy Party hold a rally in front of Chinese Consulate General in New York to appeal all the CDP members to learn from the people’s hero Zhu, Yufu, and strongly urge the CCP immediately release the important CDP leader; solemnly appeal international community and human rights organizations pay attention to the imprisoned Mr. Zhu, in order to take more effective methods to take care and help Mr. Zhu, Yufu and his families.
