On Oct 2, 2012 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the New York famous community leader and Director of Community Prevention Alternatives, and also one of the candidates of New York State Assembly, Ms. Martha Flores-Vazquez hosts “Voter Education Forum” at China Democracy Journal office. Mr. Adam C. Lombardi from Queens Politics and the Chairman of China Democracy Party and President of China Democracy Journal, Mr. Wang Jun attend this activity, along with part of supporters of Ms. Martha Flores-Vazquez, several China Democracy Party members and some journalists.
The “Voter Education Forum” is organized and hosted by Ms. Martha Flores-Vazquez. The forum mainly discusses the general situation of the 2012 State Assembly election, which has seven candidates of different races. The election process is fiercely competitive, and the public give high degree attention and enthusiasm to it.
The process of people’s participation in the election fully embodies democratic freedom ideals. People’s ability to take part in the election of government officials closely relates to the democratic political system of the country, which is the real motor for the success to US elections and the rise and prosperity of the county. The speakers in today’s “Voter Education Forum” said that, the democratic free elections must run on the base of justice, open and equality, however, the unethical challenges created by candidates result in voter apathy. The speakers present solutions to the problem, and provide instructions to the public on how to vote for the upcoming election.
Ms. Martha thanks her supporters, and she will remain in office of community leader, though failed in the election of SA. She says analysis and review will be made as to the failure of the election of SA, and she will keep trying and is full of confidence in the future. Ms. Martha appeals voter continue to support her. Mr. Lombardi from Queens Politics presents instructions to the attendees on how to vote for the upcoming election, and encourages the public to go into politics, making full use of a voter’s right, actively participating in vote.
