On Nov 6, 2012 around 11 am, nearly 200 China Democracy Party members gathered in front of Chinese Consulate-General in New York to hold rally of “Protest Communist Government to Persecute China Democracy Party Members!”, “Donate to aid China Democracy Party Member Zhang Lin suffered by disease!”. The Chairman of China Democracy Party and president of China Democracy Journal, Wang Jun, attended today’s rally and made a speech.
China Democracy Party member Mr. Zhang Lin was born on Jun 2, 1953 in Bengbu, Anhui. In September 1979, he was admitted to Peking University with great performance, in which he contacted to progressive ideas like democracy, freedom, human rights, and participated in campus democratic activities. From 1986, he engaged in democratic movements in Anhui, Hainan, Yunnan etc. In June, 1989, Zhang Lin organized democratic movements in Anhui, and made public speeches for several times, then was arrested by the communist government and to be sentenced for 2 years’ imprisonment. After released, he continued to engage in democratic movement, in May, 1994, he took part in the preparations of “Workers Rights Alliance” and other democratic activities, and to be arrested back to Anhui province to receive reeducation through labor for 3 years. After released in September, 1997, Zhang Lin got American visa and came to the U.S.
The democracy and freedom in America impressed Mr. Zhang a lot, American people could fully enjoy civil rights thanks to the multi-party democratic constitutionalism, government officials, even the president, are elected by people’s vote. In this country, besides the democracy and human rights, people here also have rich material life. After one year Mr. Zhang arrived in the U.S., he decided to go back to China to continue devoting himself to democratic movement. In October, 1998, he came back to China and got arrested by the communist party the third time, and to be sentenced 3 years’ reeducation through labor. On August 12, 2008, Mr. Zhang Lin, who was sentenced by the communist government of “Inciting Subversion of State Power” for 5 years, released from prison, which is the fourth release.
Zhang Lin’s health is bad, plus several times’ imprisonment, where he suffered cruel torture, his health got severe injury that result in squela. The other day, Zhang Lin wrote to the chairman of China Democracy Party and president of China Democracy Journal, said he is resting at home as cervical spondylosis recurrence. On October 19, 2012, two policemen rush into his home, now his situation is pretty hard.
2.Wang claimed in the rally to protest communist regime to harass and threaten the China Democracy Party member, Mr. Zhang Lin, who is suffering the torment of disease. We China Democracy Party members firmly chase democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law, and ask for ending China’s one-party authoritarian, implementing multiple parties holding office in rotation system
3.We believe if everyone acts like Mr. Zhang Lin, maintaining strong belief of democracy and freedom and devoting himself to promoting China’s democratic political reform, democracy would realize in China sooner or later

Chairman Wang appealed for donations to Mr. Zhang Lin, a China Democracy Party member who is suffering the torment of disease.
“Donation is the best way to support China’s democratic movement!” is an idea proposed by Chairman Wang in 2005. For many years, a large number of China Democracy Party members, human rights activists, dissidents who are suffering persecution in China have received economic aid from chairman Wang, and the humanitarian aid warms their heart. Wang always says, we overseas China Democracy Party members should spare no efforts to care for those victims, as well as help them, and to try our best to donate for them, which is the best support to China’s democratic movement!
The China Democracy Party members who have attended today’s rally generously donated to the sick Party member, Zhang Lin, totally 630 USD collected.
