A Clamor to Chinese Communist Party for Freedom of the Press and Speech
At 11am of January 29, 2013, partial members of China Democracy Party joined the assembly in front of Chinese consulate-General in New York. The topic of today’s assembly is “A clamor to Chinese Communist Party for freedom of press and speech,” and “Donation for charity is the best way to support Chinese democratic cause”. The chairman of China Democracy Party and Chief of China Democracy Journal, Mr. Wang, Jun, attended this assembly and gave a speech.
At the beginning of January, 2013, the New Year greeting published on the Chinese newspaper Southern Weekend was edited and changed in Guangdong province in China. During the event, the staff of Southern Weekend claimed that a substantial change of New Year greeting was made under the pressure from the CCP committee Propaganda Department of Guangdong province. After the edition, several common mistakes were made resulting in the protest of Southern weekend journalists. This event attracted wide attention of global media and Internet, focusing on Chinese censorship of the press, freedom of speech and the press.
Reports on Chinese media are all about praising the CCP, no matter on TV, radio, newspaper, or magazine. Almost all the news is the same, representing the government and officials, without the voices of ordinary people. To free the press, the media should be able to publish the truth to attain people’s trust, and the shortcomings and mistakes of the government should be openly discussed by justice reports. If the government keeps oppressing the freedom of the press and speech, the media have to publish reports in deceptious, dark, and even evil means, which could leads to public anger, social movement, and even disasters of death. The government cannot suppress the freedom of the press and speech. The governmental officials with mistakes or limited personal ability should accept the criticism from the press and public.

The Chairman of China Democracy Party and Chief Editor of China Democracy Journal, Mr. Wang, Jun has pointed that the press and media should report the object fact of China like a mirror. When the mirror reflects the corruption of the political system, governmental incompetence, official corruption and many other social problems, the Chinese government shouldn’t break the mirror, or avoid the reality in reports and public speech.
Wang, Jun said, the Chinese government should guarantee the freedom of the press and speech, to expose the disadvantages of current Chinese social system; to show the conflicts between officials and people, between family and society; to give public people another view to consider their lives; to wake up people from their numb lives; to awaken the officials who are addicted to high-speed growing “GDP” and so-called “flourishing age” views; to make officials face the real living conditions of the public people; to educate public people about the living conditions in democratic countries, and to make people start thinking the deep root problems of China. Chinese people should face the realities behind the society, eliminate the ugly problems in real lives, promote the democratic revolution and end the false theory of the CCP. Through our efforts, people should see the beautiful future of China, completely change people’s fate, live and work happily.
