Strongly Urge the Chinese Government to Release China Democracy party Member Zhang, Lin
At 11:00 on September 3, 2013, some members of the China Democracy Party came to hold a rally named “Strongly urge the Chinese government to release China Democracy party member Zhang, Lin”, and “strongly protest that Chinese government persecute China Democracy party members and dissidents” in front of China Consulate General in New York. The Chairman of China Democracy party and proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. wang, Jun attended today’s rally and also delivered a speech.
Bengbu Anhui Human rights defender Mr. Zhang, Lin, who is also a China Democracy Party member, was born in June 2rd, 1963 in Bengbu, Anhui province. He was admitted to Tsinghua University on September 1979, and participated in democratic movement on campus. From 1986, he was involved in democratic movement in Anhui, Hainan, Yunnan and other province. On June 1989, while organizing and leading democratic movement in Anhui province, he was arrested by Chinese Communist Party and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. After his release, he continued to engage in the democratic movement. On May 1994, he was arrested by Chinese authorities and put in detention for three years. On September 1997, after the release, Zhang, Lin came to America. One year later, Zhang, Lin went back to China to promote democracy movement, and was arrested for the third time. He was sentenced to three years detention. On August 12, 2009, Zhang, Lin, charged as “inciting subversion of state power", was released from prison after 5 years.
In the morning of July 19, 2013, China Democracy party member Mr. Zhang, Lin was arrested by Bengbu authorities in the charge was "alleged mob to disturb social order in public places”. He was in Bengbu City First Detention Center.
At the end of February 2013, after the event of Zhang, Lin’s daughter Anne was stopped to attend school in Hefei by the Chinese authorities, Zhang, Lin and his daughter was sent back to Bengbu. It had been over 5 months already since February 27, 2013, the police took Anne out of school, they were monitored in their home, and had no freedom. For his daughter’s development and freedom, Zhang,Lin took his daughter and escaped. They first came to Nanjing, then through Funjian and other places, come to Beijing. On July 1, they were stopped by police in Beijing, and were sent back to Bengbu, Anhui province again. Shortly thereafter, Zhang, Lin was detained by the Chinese Communists.

At 10am on July 19, 2013, in Bengbu, Anhui province, the Chinese authorities went to Zhang, Lin’s ex-wife’s residence several times, using all kinds of ways to trick Zhang, Lin’s daughter and ex-wife to open the door. Once it opened, dozens of men and women forced into the house, and among them 2 policemen showed their IDs. Later, they took out a notice about Zhang. Lin’s detention, and asked Zhang, Lin’s eldest daughter Zhang, Ruli to sign. And on the notice, there were words saying “alleged crime mob to disturb social order of the place”.
Three months ago, Zhang, Lin was interfered by the Police in Hefei, Anhui province become of his child’s school application. Shortly after that, Zhang, Lin and his daughter was sent back to Bengbu, Anhui province. After three months, the Chinese government detained Zhang, Lin in the charge of “alleged crime mob to disturb social order of the place”. Then later, On August 22, 2013, Zhang, Lin was arrested again.
Today, some China Democracy party members living overseas gathered together in front of China Consulate General in New York, protesting policemen’s craziness and silliness in China. We ask the Chinese government to stop persecuting China Democracy party member Zhang, Lin and his families, release Zhang, Lin immediately and give freedom to Zhang, Lin.
