Urge the Chinese Government to Release Sick China Democracy Party Member Zhu, Yufu

On November 5, 2013, China Democracy Party members held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, urging the Chinese government to release sick China Democracy Party member Zhu, Yufu, and urging the Chinese government to stop persecuting China Democracy Party members. The president of China Democracy Party and proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang, Jun made a speech first, and many members anticipated giving a speech. Here is the wish from all the people: China Democracy Party member Mr. Zhu, Yufu can be released from prison as soon as possible, obtaining medical treatment, and become healthy soon.

American doctors Marcus (Devra Marcus) and human rights activist Knies (Kody Kness) recently traveled to China to visit China Democracy Party member Zhu, Yufu in prsion in Zhengjiang Province, China, and were detained by prison authorities. They issued a statement to aid to China through American churches. Marcus said that he came to prison to visit on the urgent request from Zhu, Yufu’s family members. According to some reports, they never give any medical treatment to Mr. Zhu, Yufu, so he has not seen a doctor for about one year already. Now his health condition is in very critical situation.

Marcus also said, according to records, Zhu, Yufu seems to suffer from acute high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, acute unexplained rash and some other diseases. Recently, these diseases cause syncope and he has some symptoms of illness. It is said that Zhu, Yufu is the only person in 4th prison that does not have a normal meal to eat. And his right of taking medication is also deprived, and they also ask him to do heavy labor work.

According to these reports, Marcus was worried that Zhu, Yufu would at the risk of death because the lack of medical treatment. The reason for his visit in prison is to make an assessment of Zhu, Yufu’s health condition and make basic and standard treatment options.After the rejection from the prison to visit China Democracy Party member Zhu, Yufu, U.S. medical staff Dr. Marcus issued a statement, claiming Zhu, Yufu may in very critical health condition.

The responsible person Fu, Xiqiu of the American civil society organization Aid to China which assisted Dr.Marcus and others’ visit said, he was so disappointed at the rejection Department of Justice in Zhengjiang give to the medical parole. He said, “ If the 4th prison can give the necessary medical examination to Mr. Zhu, Yufu, then his family members would not be so worried. Seeing Mr. Zhu, Yufu could not walk by himself, they asked an American doctor come to check Zhu, Yufu’s condition inside the prison, and if he is at the risk of death or not. If Zhengjiang 4th prison really thinks Zhu, Yufu does not have any special problem or has a reasonable ground to refuse, they should provide relevant certificate. Or they should allow Dr. Marcus who comes here purely out of humanitarian, visit Mr. Zhu, Yufu in prison.

An American doctor can even travel so far away to try to provide treatment to China Democracy Party member Mr. Zhu, Yufu, why cannot the Chinese government release sick China Democracy Party member Mr. Zhu, Yufu out of humanitarian?

In this historical turning point, Chinese government should make a critical decision, which is given up autocracy. The government should advocate democracy and freedom, benefiting all the people in China.
One of the most important leaders of China Democracy Party members Mr. Zhu, Yufu was sentenced 7 years in prison in the name of “subversion of state power” because he established China Democracy Party in June 1998; in July 2007, Zhu, Yufu was sentenced 2 years in prison in the crime of disrupting public services by the court in upper side Hangzhou; In March, 2011, Zhu, Yufu was arrested again for publishing his poetry it is the time, since the authorities said he was supporting Jasmine Revaluation. Last year on February 10th, Hangzhou Intermediate People＇s Court sentenced Zhu, Yufu 7 years in prison un the crime of “" inciting subversion of state power ", and deprived his political right for three years. This excellent China Democracy Party member Mr. Zhu, Yufu has been sentenced to jail three times by the Chinese government.

We call again on the Chinese government to allow China Democracy Party member Mr. Zhu, Yufu get medical treatment and freedom he deserves out of the basic principle of humanitarian and rule of law. We urge the Chinese government to release all the detained China Democracy Party members, and to stop persecuting China Democracy party members.
