This rally was finished in the sound of China Democracy party members’ sound of shouting slogans.
On December 10th, 1948, United Nation issued “Universal declaration of Human Rights” in Paris, France, aiming at protecting people’s basic human rights. The direct reason for this declaration is an introspection of World War II. This is the first document around the world telling that all people have rights. The complete document is published on its own website by United Nation. There are 30 titles inside the “Universal declaration of Human Rights”, including citizens’ political rights at the first stage, as well as citizen’s economic, social and cultural rights at the send stage. It is hard to just use one declaration to guarantee citizens’ right in both stages. For example, some countries care more about citizen’s political right, and some other countries care more about citizens’ economic, social and cultural rights. In order to solve this problem, the United Nation wrote two other declarations: “International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights” and the "International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.” On December 16th, 1966, the United Nations adopted these two conventions. And these became effective since January 3rd, 1976. These two conventions and “Universal declaration of Human Rights” are generally called collectively as “" International Bill of Rights”.

Since 1950, the United Nations defined December 10th as “international human rights day” every year.

Since the “Universal declaration of Human Rights” is passed by the UN General Assembly, it is not a mandatory international convention. However, it layed foundation for the “International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights” and the "International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.” Many scholars, lawyers and court judgment papers always cite some provisions from “Universal declaration of Human Rights” to support their positions. However, some international lawyers also think that “Universal declaration of Human Rights” is a customary law. In academic area, they haven’t reached any common point yet.

At the occasion of the 65th anniversary of “Universal declaration of Human Rights”, we review the human rights situation in China and it is really sad.

Human right in China, which is under Chinese Communist Party’s one party dictatorship, is really bad. There is almost no human right at all for Chinese people, only human rights activists would be persecuted, even people’s right of talking about human rights and looking forward human rights is deprived. Whoever promotes human rights and democracy in China would be persecuted by the Chinese authority.

Chinese government does not want to do anything to improve human rights; however it kills many Chinese people. A large number of excellent China Democracy Party members are arrested by the Chinese government. This is the direct reflection of human rights situation in China. China Democracy Party member Wang, Bingzhang was sentenced life in prision, Zhu, Yufu was sentenced 7 years in prison (this is the third time that Zhu, Yufu was sentenced into prision by Chinese Communist Party), Liu, Xianbin was sentenced 10 years in prison, Xu, Wanping was sentenced 12 years in prison, Xie, Changfa was sentenced 13 years in Prison. China Democracy Party member Zhang, Lin and Liu, Benqi were detained by Chinese Communist Party. And China Democracy Party member Li, Hong and Li, Wangyang were perpetuated to death. A large number of China Democracy Party members are still bothered and threatened even after their release from prison, for example some dissidents like Chen, Shuqing, Lv,Gengsong, Qin, Yongmin, He, Depu, Cha, Jianguo, Xue, Mingkai and so on, human rights activists, petitioners, religious groups, disadvantage people.

As China Democracy Party members, we sincerely hope that China can walk toward democracy, and also hope that Chinese people can have freedom and human rights as soon as possible.
Picture 9: Media is recording the rally
At the critical moment of the whole world is expecting China’s democratization, , the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CCP has decided to set up " National Security Council ". Some people believe that the National Security Council which has great power and is not restricted is set up for the growing civil rights movement in China. This means that China’s human rights situation would continue to deteriorate.

It has been 65 years since the day United Nations issued “Universal Declaration of Human Rights”. And every country is changing, moving towards civilization and freedom. China is a big country; it should lead the world, take responsibility, abandon authoritarian, and stop persecution, so that " Universal Declaration of Human Rights " would have root in China , making China realize constitutional democracy.
