After having severed in jail for nine years, China Democracy Party member Xu, Wanping who was sentenced 12 years in jail was released on April 29th, 2014, and reunited with his family members.

On the rally, members expressed their deep condolences for Xu, Wanping mother’s death at 3 am on October 10, 2013; They condemned the local authority since it rejected Wu, wanping to attend his mother’s funeral; they also protested the local authority’s behavior of beating when Xu, Wanping’s wife while visiting her husband in prison.

According to the information from human rights, Wu, Wanping was not in good health condition during his prison time. He has suffered from various diseases. However, he was rejected to do medical treatment outside and even could not get any necessary checkups.
China Democracy Party member Xu, Wanping would be deprived 4 years political rights after his releasing. He was warned by the local authorities to be careful with is acts and words.

China Democracy party member Xu, Wanping was born on April 11, 1961 in Chongqing. He was engaged in promoting China＇s democracy movement from the beginning of the 1980s. He has been sentenced by Chinese Communist party for as long as 23 years together, and has been served in Chongqing prison for 20 years totally. After the 1989 Tiananmen incident , Xu Wanping was sentenced to prison for 8 years due to building " China ＇s Action Party " , and was deprived of political rights for five years. On October 14, 1998, Chinese Community authority arrested Xu, wanping for 15 days in the name of "disturbing social order," because he joined China Democracy Party. After this release, Xu, Wanping was sentenced to detention for three years on December 14th. On December 2005, China Democracy party member Xu, Wanping was sentenced 12 years in prison in the name of “inciting subversion of state power " , and was deprived political rights for four years by Chinese Community authority.
