CDPWU held rally "strongly protest against CCP arrest famous dissident writer Lu, GengSong"

At 11:00 AM on September 4, 2007, CDPWU gathered more than 100 members and cadres held a rally at the Chinese Consulate General in New York: strongly protest against CCP arrestment of famous dissident writer Lu, GengSong. Members participated shouted their slogans "freedom of speech" "freedom of press ". Wang, Jun CDPWU Chairman made a speech. Many other members made their statements at the rally.

Well-known dissident writer Lu, GengSong was detained on August 24, 2007 by the Communist authorities on criminal charge of "inciting subversion of state power" and "illegal possession of state secrets" and later formally arrested. For 10 days or so, the incident has aroused strong reaction from the international community. Lu, GengSong, a selfish less intellect who worries for the country before the rest of all, a writer who is concerned with the nation’s future. He is talented, imaginative, and sharp and he dares to speak the truth. He has the courage to plead for the people, speak up for the vulnerable groups, and say no to corrupt officials! For such an outstanding writer, where is the so-called "crime of inciting subversion of state power"?                    

For such a humble poor scholar living at the bottom of society, penniless, and have no distinction between the civilian population of the, where is the state secret come from to charge him with the so-called "crime of illegal possession of state secrets"?!

Lu, GengSong, native of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, was graduated from Hangzhou University in 1983 (now Zhejiang University) majoring history. He was once College professor in the Zhejiang public security. He was later fired in 1993 from public post due to his involvement in democracy movement. He is now a freelance writer, his works include "Chinese corrupt officials" (Published by Hong Kong Cultural Arts Court studio in 2000), his main articles are "Establish impeachment system by the citizens", " establishment of joint criminal responsibility system", "buying, selling public posts and killings among officials", "Contemporary social basis of the Chinese triad " and " main types of Contemporary Chinese triad." . Lu, Gengsong recently did a lot of the work defending human rights. One day before his arrest, he still reported relocated Hangzhou resident Yang,Yunbiao trial news.

CDPWU Chairman Wang Jun said: the "crime of inciting subversion of state power" and "illegal possession of state secrets" are forcefully charged to Lu,GengSong, because CCP is retaliate on different voices, further tighten online speech. This is completely on the course of reverse of CCP’s promise of “protecting human rights, freedom of expression and freedom of the press”. The purpose of doing so is to strengthen its authoritarian rule; to consolidate the corrupted totalitarian autocratic regime with no freedom of press and speech!

More than 10 members of CDPWU made their statements at the rally condemned the unwarranted charge on arresting Lu, GengSong, demanding CCP government to immediately release dissidents, writers Lu, Gengsong unconditionally.
