CDPWU held rally "strongly demanded the immediate release of human rights lawyer Gao, Zhisheng"
On October 2, 2007, more than 100 CDPWU members protest at the China Consulate General in New York strongly demanded the immediate release of human rights lawyer Gao,Zhisheng. They demand the Chinese government to use the 2008 Olympic opportunities to improve its human rights; to end one-party rule as soon as possible, and establish a democratic China. CDPWU Organization Department Director Wang, Zhiqiang organize the rally, and several members speak at the rally.

On September 21, 2007 China human rights lawyer Gao,Zhisheng issued open letter to the United States House of Representatives, the Senate calling to the attention of the human rights abuses during the Olympic Games in China. On September 23, the secret police took away human rights lawyer Gao,Zhisheng from his home and further information is unknown.
In the past few years, Gao, ZhiSheng traveled around China representing challenged groups and Falun Gong practitioners for their basic human rights. For a long time, facing the forces of evil threats and intimidation, Gao, ZhiSheng did not flinch half a step, his heroic spirit make the CCP evil forces very afraid. Communist authorities use gangster like evil means to harass and persecute Gao, ZhiSheng for a long period of time. In December 2006, lawyer Gao Zhisheng was illegally sentenced to three years imprisonment suspended for 5 years by the Communist authorities on the charge of "inciting subversion of state power" with one year deprivation of political rights. Until today Gao, ZhiSheng and his families are still being harassed, beaten and illegally imprisoned. Gao Zhisheng on September 20, 2007 issued to the United States Congress, House of Representatives, the Senate open letter to Western leaders calling on attention of human rights abuses in China in the name of the Olympic Games, in particular the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
China again arrested Gao, Zhisheng, we were enraged and condemned the evil forces in violations of law; We anxiously hope and pray the safe return of Gao, ZhiSheng as soon as possible. Today, the CDPWU members protest at the Chinese Consulate General in New York demanding the immediate release of human rights lawyer Gao, Zhisheng.
