CDPWU Attend Rally on Feb 2nd, 2008 in Washington D.C. to Support Uigur Compatriots’ Protest Movement

11 years ago Feb 2nd, 1997, CCP made a horrible Yili Event. During the Event CCP squash a lot of Uigur compatriots and at this time of every year Uigur Municipality situation is serious. Today is the 11 anniversary of Yili Event. CDPWU and Uigur compatriots attend the rally on China Embassy to appeal international society to pay attention to Uigur compatriots’ human-right situation. Many years Uigur people never bend to CCP’s dictatorship. Ms. Rebiya is delegate of Uigur people and support Uigur people’s human-right, religion and cultural freedom. They support Uigur people’s movements for democracy, religion and cultural freedom. CCP government sentences Ms Rebiya 8 years in prison as applying national information to overseas organization.

[编者按语] 11年前的今天，1997年的2月5日，中共政府制造了震惊中外的维吾尔自治区伊犁事件，在这次事件中，中共当局镇压了一大批维吾尔族人；每到“伊犁事件”的周年之际，维吾尔自治区的形势都很紧张，今天就是“伊犁事件”11周年，中国民主党世界同盟与维吾尔族同胞聚集在中国大使馆前集会，全力呼吁国际社会关注维吾尔族的人权状况。多年来，维吾尔人不屈服于中共当局，以热比娅为代表的维吾尔人坚持维护维吾尔族的人权、宗教和文化自由，长期支持维吾尔人要求民主、宗教、文化自由的运动。中共政府以“向境外组织非法提供国家情报”的莫须有罪名判处热比娅女士8年徒刑。
