Please allow me to extend my sincerest thanks and warmest welcome to everyone attending the Start Publication Ceremony News Release of China Democracy Journal!
Tomorrow is March 8 Women＇s Day. The reason we have chosen this day as start publication day of China Democracy Journal is because that we respect women and understand that only when the majority women really participate in the progress of China＇s democracy can democratic China celebrates its birth.
This is nothing strange. Western democratic countries really became the birthplace of universal values after women had obtained the right of general election. Former American President Clinton＇s wife, Madame Hillary＇s running for election best illustrates this point. A respectable friend was not able to come among us today. He wrote a letter to congratulation. He writes in this letter that in current society media are playing huge roles and undertaking such important roles as information spread and exchange, public opinion guidance, people＇s opinion expression and gathering people＇s support. He thinks publication of China Democracy Journal is a far-seeing arrangement. It creates a new stage of China＇s democracy and the pattern of party politics and democratic republic politics in the future of China.He also urges me that"it is of more value to persist than to create a media." I thank his words greatly and will try my best to persevere.
China Democracy Journal was run without any external aid. Hoestly, this was not my far-seing sight.It was my sense of social responsibility. It was right with the belief to promote the progress of Chinese society and after two years＇preparation, we decide to run anindependent media that faces China, future and democracy. This is because we observed the party background of some medias has submerged the necessary objectiveness of medias. It is regretableand needs improving.
Today we invite you here in the hope that you can be our witness. Time will prove that with our mutual efforts China Democracy Journal will surely have become the hope of the democratic China!
