On 11 a.m. April 8, 2008, more than 90 CDPWU members on China Consulate in New York attend the rally to protest strongly CCP arrest Chinese human right supporter Hu, Jia and demand CCP release Hu, Jia immediately! Jun Wang, chairman of CDPWU and several CDPWU members address on the rally to appeal CCP government arrest Hu, Jia and sentence him into jail.
Hu, Jia is only 34 this year and famous Chinese internal AIDS fighter and human right activator. After being arrested by CCP, he was sentenced to the jail for 3 years and 6 months on April 1, 2008 by CCP.
Hu, Jia lost his freedom, but he still devotes himself to environment protection and AIDS fight etc, these fields work. He doesn’t take care of any threat and still work for human right business, so he become the aim of government to infringe. Hu, Jia was sentenced to jail. This is a tragedy of Chinese people and China.

世盟举行“强烈抗议中共抓捕维权人士胡佳”集会
2008年4月8日上午11时，九十多名中国民主党世界同盟成员来到中国驻纽约总领事馆前举行集会：强烈抗议中共抓捕维权人士胡佳！强烈要求中共立即释放胡佳！中国民主党世界同盟主席王军在集会上讲话，多名中国民主党成员在集会上发言，纷纷谴责中共政府将胡佳抓捕入狱并非法将其判刑。
胡佳今年才34岁，是中国国内著名的艾滋病活动人士、人权活动家；在被中共当局逮捕3个多月后，在2008年4月1日，被中共当局判处有期徒刑3年6个月，并剥夺政治权利1年。
长期没有自由的胡佳，不屈服中共的压力，一直从事环保、艾滋病等领域的民间维权公益事业，他不顾各种威胁和恐吓，义无反顾，依然在家中从事人权工作，因此成为当局打压的对象。胡佳今天的获刑，是中国良知者们的悲剧，也是中国的悲剧
中国民主党世界同盟主席王军在集会上指出：对于弱小的胡佳，如果说他仅仅因为写了几篇文章，做了几次采访，就要将他判刑三年六个月再加上剥脱政治权利一年的话，我们倒要问一问中共当局，这就是你们口口声声说的要在2008年北京奥运前改善人权吗？！这就是你们宪法上规定的中国人民拥有言论自由权利的吗？！
王军说，中国有句古训：叫做“放下屠刀，立地成佛”。中共当局应该对西藏人民的血腥镇压进行反醒，在胡佳的问题上，不应该让悲剧重演。因为全世界都在关注着中国，关注着北京的奥运会。在这个时候，中共当局应该把改善人权问题做到实处：停止对西藏人民的血腥镇压；立即释放维权人士胡佳。
中国民主党世界同盟强烈谴责中共当局长期对胡佳进行监控、软禁、羁押的流氓做法；强烈谴责中共当局以所谓“涉嫌煽动颠覆”的莫须有罪名逮捕胡佳；强烈谴责中共当局不顾国际社会与人权组织以及欧美各国官员纷纷要求放人的呼吁，不顾中国国内各界维权人士与团体的声援，一意孤行将胡佳判刑。
中国民主党世界同盟认为胡佳敢于面对中共独裁者的冷酷与邪恶，他是真正的英雄！强烈要求中共当局立即释放维权人士胡佳！
