——No2. campaign for “Public Year of rescuing Chinese victims suffering political persecution”
On January 6, 2009, at 11 a.m., over 100 members of China Democracy Party World Union came to the front of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in New York to hold the rally to initiate No 2. campaign-“Support 2008 chapter and request Chinese communist to release Liu, Xiaobo” for “Public Year of rescuing Chinese victims suffering political persecution”. China Democracy Party World Union Chairman and director of China Democracy Journal-Wang, Jun attended thisrally and made a speech.
To commemorate 60 anniversary Universal Human Rights Declaration issued by United Nations on December 10, 1948, 2008 chapter drafted mainly by Liu, Xiaobo and signed by him and the other 303 people at the different Chinese stratums appeals to implement the modern regime structure of democracy, republic and constitution and also promote Chinese democracy progress by abiding by free, fair and humane principles. The Forum that was scheduled to be held to announce2008 chapter in memory of 60 anniversary Universal Human Rights Declaration on December 10, 2008 had to be terminated due to Chinese communist authority’s arresting action. Two of the initiators-Liu, Xiaobo and Zhang, Zuye were arrested by Chinese community authority on the evening of December, 8, because they drafted and signed 2008 chapter. In the following ten days, successively almost one thousand of people signed 2008 chapter online in public.

2008 Chapter composes of four parts- “preface”, “Our basic concepts”, “Our basic
claims”, “Conclusion”, and the main idea is to demonstrate freedom, human rights,
democracy and constitution, etc. 2008 Chapter claims that constitution must be
revised, and also the separation & balance of powers, democratic legislation,
independent justice and freedom of association, assembly, speech and religion must
be implemented. The signers of 2008 Chapter include Tong Bao, Zilin Ding, Qing
Dai, Haocheng Yu, Zhiqiang Pu, Zuye Zhang, Yushi Mao, Yunfei Ran and some
famous Chinese dissidents and human-rights defenders except Liu, Xiaobo.

Director- Wang, Jun made a speech at this rally, and he said that in recent 60 years
with Chinese communist government in power, Chinese communist government
has executed the long-term autocratic ruling, trampled human rights, cruelly
suppressed and persecuted dissidents, human-rights defenders, religious figures and
China Democracy Party members for a long time. Chinese communist government
declares that they are people’s most trustful and uncorrupt government, which is a lie
to deceive people in fact. Chinese people have no excessive demands for Chinese
communist government. They only hope that government can improve human rights,
and government officials don’t corrupt. However, truth is contrary to people’s wishes.
In today’s Chinese society, the huge number the wide scope of
corrupt Chinese officials, the huge amount that Chinese officials corrupted and the
wide scope of corrupt Chinese officials are unbelievable. So Chinese people lost their
confidence in extreme corrupt Chinese communist government.

Wang, Jun indicated that Chinese communist spent 30 years on reform and opening
up, though Chinese economic development achieved a certain of outcome, Chinese
autocratic regime hasn’t changed fundamentally. Chinese government is the most
untrustworthy and corrupt one-party autocratic government that has used violence and
lies for a long time in the world. Today, Chinese communist is maintaining the last
gasp. Facing international finance crisis, only ending one-party autocracy,
implementing multi-party democratic political reform and establishing a democratic
constitutional country can save China. This is the only choice for Chinese communist.
Wang, Jun said that China Democracy Party World Union and China Democracy
Journal support 2008 Chapter that promotes the reform on Chinese democracy and
politics and request Chinese communist to immediately release the initiator of 2008
Chapter- Mr. Liu, Xiaobo.
At this rally, a couple of China Democracy Party members lectured to support 2008
Chapter and appealed to Chinese communist government for abiding by Universal
Human Rights Declaration and releasing Mr. Liu, Xiaobo.
