Rally of 50th anniversary of memorizing Tibetan protesting against violence was held in front of the United Nation
On 10th, March, 1959 last century, Chinese Communist government made use of force to squash Tibet, and the whole Tibetan people uprising and protesting against the violation from Chinese Communist, which resulted in exile of Dalai Lama for about half a century. The demonstrations were getting stronger than before of the 49th anniversary of memorizing Tibetan protesting against violence on 10th, March, 2008, Lhasa and many other places were changed into insurgency on 14th, March. Tibet exile government pointed out that the violent repression of Chinese authorities caused two hundred people died.
Over these 50 years, Tibetan had lost their freedom of speech and religion. On 25th, February, 2009, some Tibetan and pro-democracy organizations from New York held a rally of “50th anniversary of memorizing Tibetan protesting against violence held in front of United Nation”, and “Celebrating Tibetan calendar New Year, mourning for dead Tibetan compatriots of 3.14”. There were over 300 people took part in this rally. Participants appealed Chinese Communist government to stop violence, open up news media, ameliorate free human rights, claim Chinese Communist authorities to respect religious freedom of Tibetan, and esteem the way Tibetan live; appealed United Nation and international society to pressure Chinese Communist government to stop persecuting Tibetan.
Pro-democracy organizations such as China Democracy Party, China Freedom Democracy Party and Citizen Freedom Alliance had taken part in this rally.
