女士们、先生们：
今天是一个值得纪念的日子——第十五届国会人权日（the 15th Annual Commemoration of Human Rights Day in Congress） 。
十五年以前的现在，我还在中国，我在中国军队里担任校级军官……我在部队里服役18年，我曾经当过军事记者，维护修理过歼击飞机，还体验过潜艇、舰艇部队的海上生活，对中国军队的上层和下层、内部和外部都有深入的了解。最后我是从北海舰队转业到青岛地方的。在地方上，我因为反对中共官员们利用职权贪污受贿，结果反而受到共产党组织的整肃，遭到撤销经理职务的处分，最后被迫离开了中国。我特别了解中国退伍军人的艰难处境，一到美国，我就投入了争取民主和人权的活动。
通过亲身经历，我了解民间疾苦，和广大群众息息相关。直到今天，我还和中国国内的许多人们保持着密切的联系，并知道他们的艰难处境。例如，受到无理拆迁的人们，其补偿不是根据市场规律，而是根据政府的行政命令，往往遭到极大的低估。失业工人得不到失业救济，因为他们的退职金，已经在十几年前，以很低的价格被一次性的付给了。被无偿剥夺土地的农民，他们的补偿金都被农村各级共产党干部私吞了。我们经常从各个方面帮助他们，并通过他们扩大民主力量的影响、改善中国社会的人权状况、减轻专制暴政的危害。
我们经常在道义上和经济上，真诚帮助中国国内被中共当局抓捕坐牢的中国民主党人，以及中国民主党人的家属。
通过和他们的接触，我深深感到：让全体中国平民都感到痛苦的上学、医疗、养老等三大困难，使得中国人有钱不敢花，全都存在银行里，任凭贬值，结果反而加剧了全球经济危机。
由于中国在全球事务中的重要性日益突出，所以我们为中国的民主和人权而奋斗的工作，其重要性也越来越突出，以后，我们和在座的各位密切合作的机会也将越来越多。
现在我祝贺会议成功！并希望以后每年都能参加这样的盛会！让我们大家团结起来，为改进全球经济危机下的人权状况而奋斗！

Chairman Jun Wang：Speech on the 15th Annual Commemoration of Human Rights Day in Congress
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Today is a date worthy to commemorate: the 15th Annual Commemoration of Human Rights Day in Congress.
15 years ago I was still in China. I used to be a major officer in China Army. I’ve served in the military for 18 years. I was on a military reporter, and I had the experience of doing maintenance for attacking planes and also reporting life on submarine or warships, so I had thorough knowledge about China Army officers of different levels and the interior and exterior sides about China Army. I was demobilized from China North Sea Fleet and then I settled down in Qing Dao City, Shandong Province. As a local civilian I was disciplinarily punished by the communist organization because I opposed China Communist officials’ embezzlement and corruption by taking advantage of their power, and I was removed from a unit manager position, and finally I was compelled to leave China. I have rich knowledge about China veterans’ hard life, so I devoted myself to democracy and human right movement as soon as I came to the Untied States.
Through personal experience, I understand the hardship of the ordinary people. I keep in close contact with many persons in China and I know their hard life. For example, those facing forced house demolish/relocation can not get their compensation at the market value level; instead, their houses’ values are extremely low-evaluated according to government administrative orders. Laid-off workers can not get their subsidies to make a normal life and their past working years’ values were once paid with very little amount and no more. Farmers lost their land under various projects permitted by the government, but their compensation money was divided and embezzled by communist officials at different levels in rural area. We often try to help them, and spread the message of democracy through them, so as to improve the human right conditions in China society, reducing the harms of the dictatorial rules.
For those China Democracy Party members arrested and jailed by China communist authority and their families we often sincerely help them morally and economically.
Through contacting them I deeply feel the pains of the ordinary Chinese people regarding education, medical care and senior care, and I understand why the ordinary Chinese have to save their every penny in bank, no matter how the money devalued, and as a result of their so doing it worsened the global economic crisis.
Because China is playing a more and more important role in global issues, the importance of our struggle for the democracy and human right in China also became more obvious, and we will have more opportunities to cooperate with you in our future work.
Now I wish a success for the meeting and hope we will have such a good meeting every year, and let us united to work together for the improvement of human right conditions under the global economy crisis.
