美国总统 奥巴马 中国民主党主席 王军
Letter from China Democracy Party Chairman Jun Wang to the U.S. President Obama
To: the White House, Washington DC
Respected President Obama,
This is an election year. As the nominee of the Democratic Party of the United State, you will participate in the competition for presidency, and you are hopefully to win the election and serve another term of the Office. As the leader of China Democracy Party (CDP), I extend my warm congratulation to you.
Recently, on Feb 10, 2012, before the state leader Jinping Xi visits the United States and his talks with you, China Communist Party, on account of freedom speech, sentenced my old friend, an early CDP member Mr. Yufu Zhu 7 year imprisonment, plus “3 year deprivation of political rights”, totaling an incarceration of 10 years. Mr. Yufu Zhu, an early CDP member, has served a sentence of 9 year imprisonment in the past. The whole court hearing was less than 20 minutes, so hasty the sentence was, a conviction clearly made before the court hearing, no legal justice at all.
Besides, China Communist Party also manipulates some local courts to separately sentence into prison Jiaping Lu, Andi Jin and Junyi Yu etc. Chinese citizens, with the conviction of “subverting China government”, but actually the accusation on them are all issues of speech freedom. The court hearings were hasty also, pre-convicted before legal proceedings, no legal justice at all.
Of course, in previous years, there were more CDP members arrested and jailed by China communist government. Among them are cases of Bingzhang Wang, life in prison, Changfa Xie, 13 years in prison, Wanping Xu, 12 years in prison, Xianbin Liu, 10 years in prison etc. On Dec 31, 2010 China communist government persecuted CDP member Hong Li to death, and they persecuted CDP members Wangyang Li to blind, Rongqing Wang and Sen Wang to serious sickness.
Unquestionably, China Communist Party’s such reactionary conduct is a brutal trample on human dignity and conscience, and it is also an openly infringe on the value of basic human right and democracy. Nevertheless, China Communist Party’s such a risky movement, before its leader Jinping Xi recent visit to the United States
and his talks with you, is a psychological test for you personally, as well as a political challenge for the election of the U.S. Democratic Party for the presidency – to see if you dare to face such a challenge, to see if you have the ability to deal with such a challenge.
If the U.S. Democratic Party government fails to give a proper response to China Communist Party’s imprisonment on CDP members, it will fail the United States to maintain leadership of democracy in the world, and it will also jeopardize the image of moral principles among the Democratic Party voters, crippling the Party’s advantage in the coming nationwide election.
Respected Mr. President, I know that as the leader of the most powerful country in the world, you have the heaviest responsibility; and I also know that you are very busy. However, it is clear that China issues have become the first important issues that you must deal with, no matter it concerns issues of politically, economically or militarily. Among all the issues concerning China and Sino-US relationship, political democracy in China is the core, more important than others.
Respected Mr. President, here I appeal on you:
To voice for the issues of political democracy in China,
To voice for CDP members like Mr. Yufu Zhu,
To voice for Chinese citizens like Jiaping Lu, Andi Jin and Junyi Yu, etc.
To voice for the human right conditions deteriorating in China,
Respected Mr. President, when you have talks with China Communist Party leader Jinping Xi, please do not to forget your moral duty and responsibility, and call on China Communist Party to release all the detained CDP members and dissidents.
Your reaction will not only relate to the progress in China, but also relate to the safety of the United States. Only when China realized democracy will the world be prevented from the danger of war, and will the world become a democratic land.
Chairman of China Democracy Party: Jun Wang
