Shaoyi Zhang: The Situations of Free Talk in China are not optimistic.
The situations of free talk in China are not optimistic, especially after 2008 Olympic Games. On the one hand, Chinese government strengthens to control the internet; on the other hand, it restricts the figures of journalists and writers, and also conditionally controls the ordinary people’s free talk. What they have done means that free talk situations in china doesn’t change better, even worse.
What results in the backwards for the free talk is because of the system. Current dictatorial system makes people have no liberal rights. All the Medias and voices are monitored by the government. People don’t have free talk, and therefore they can’t express their opinions. The government instills people with authoritarian culture in the long run. The purpose of doing so is because to know less is much better.
A normal society should have free talk and therefore they can keep informed of all kinds of information, including democracy, freedom, human rights, legal system, justice, affluence and etc. Hence, open free talk should be enforced. If we have free talk, and then we feel brave to say the truth. The moral civilization will be improved.
