Hongjun Lu: Environmental protection depends on action rather than slogan

Chinese government is one way to build up economy and pay attention to economy and ignore environmental protection. It mistakenly thinks that as long as economy develops, all problems have been solved. Although today’s economy has developed, energy consumption per unit has been increased, leading to worse and worse air quality and large-scale water pollution. Huge amounts of solid wastes have brought serious harm to people’s life and health, and environmental protection brings big press.

Because all-level of Chinese government doesn’t pay attention to environmental protection, it leads to deterring environment and influencing people’s health. Environmental damage has brought about the destruction of ecological environment, making China one of the most serious polluted areas in the world.

Chinese government has been aware of the serious pollution and it is the good thing. It should make environmental law sound and gradually increase the investment on capital. Hence, environmental protection depends on action rather than slogan.
