Hong Tian: The Power in the Hands of Officials Must be Effectively Supervised
田宏(Hong Tian)
As a country’s government, its people can ask it to completely and effectively protect their legal rights. However, the government under tyrant and autocratic system uses its power to pursuit personal interest and abuse the power randomly. Under the control of this kind of government, all the political power has no supervision from people and no restrictions from laws, which will be absolutely abused by some officials. The abuse of power will doubtlessly lead to corruption. The Chinese government calls itself the government of people, the government of people’s servants and makes its officials the ideals of noble morality. Under a system with disadvantages, the government does not strengthen the supervision over power and other legal restrictions. The result is the continuous extension of corruption, the increasing number of corruptive officials, the promoted positions of them and the enlarged amount of bribes. Consequently, the situation becomes out of control.
In today’s Chinese society, the system should be reformed and the power in the hands of all government should be put under effective restrictions. The power of the government and its officials can only function reasonably once the supervision is possible. The government can then do their best to fulfill the wishes of people and the officials can correctively use the power given by people. At the end, the purpose of eliminating corruption can be reached. It is the dispensable parts of the equality, justice, democracy, freedom, human rights and legalism in the society of China.
