Xiaoli Zhang: Democratic System Can Oppress the Problems of Corruption

Everyone has the desire for money, which is the natural disadvantage of human beings. If this desire is not properly restricted and controlled, corruption will happen. The corruption in China today is cause by a lack of effective supervise system. When officials have no restricts of power from social supervision or laws on their power under a autocratic system, corruption happens doubtlessly.

As for the problems of corruption in China nowadays, the people have common conclusion: the deep rooted source of corruption is the unsupervised autocratic system. If China doesn’t go through reform in system but merely do so-called anti-corruption, there won’t be any effect but a waste of time and energy. What can be done? It is only by democratic political reform to establish a well ordered political system in China and put the power of government officials under supervision, can the problems of corruption be eventually eliminated.
