Xiaoli Zhang: The Birth Control Policy Infringe the Basic Human Rights of the People

China’s policy of birth control prescribes: every couple is allowed to have one child. For these years, this policy made thousands of babies go through abortion, especially girls. The proportion of men and women becomes severely unbalanced. This social problem brings serious consequence to the social morality and stability to the Chinese society.

In the process of implementing birth control policy, some government officials find a convenient way to do corruption and irregularities. The officials take advantage of the birth control policy to collect money through embezzling fines. Some arrest people and threat them to pay. Moreover, the government even snatches the wealth, materials of the family which have more than one child. Their families break up and fall into dilemma.

The birth control policy in China has destroyed the natural harmony of population. A woman wanting baby has to face the constrictions from the government and can only have one under permission. This is a really ridiculous thing, which indicates the political power has invaded the emotional life of ordinary people. The birth policy is a serious violation of people’s basic human rights. In addition, their brutal behaviors in performing the policy cause deep resentment in people and will never be forgiven by the people.
