Dexiang Zhang: A System of Democracy and Freedom is Completely Appropriate for China

Under a democratic system, the citizens are all equal, and then the government and its citizens have equal and apparent relation. The cabinet is elected by citizens, so officials must serve the people sincerely. As a country’s citizen, one should not feel controlled and oppressed as in a autocratic country but regard himself as the master of the country. All citizens can enjoy their rights and take their responsibilities as well. In a democratic and constitutional society, everyone is equal. Therefore, not any individual or organization has the reason to put others under their control. Also, any person or institute has no power to deprive others’ religion freedom, speech freedom, residence freedom, immigration freedom or restrict other’ actions.
In a democratic and free country, the formulation of the nation’s constitution must go through the public discussion of its people, receive wide-ranges of suggestions and gain universal acknowledgement. Only then can the constitution be complied by all people and be implemented to maintain social stability and solidarity confirm freedom and promote social prosperity. In a democratic system, the constitution has things to do with all people’s vital interests and the society’s fairness and justice. All of these erect up a model for the democratic reform and establishment of constitutional system in China.
