Shisong Wang: Government Should Find the Reason for Corruption from its System

Because of the systematical disadvantages, there appear a lot of unfair distributions. On this unfair foundation, all kinds of corruption emerge. The numerous cases of corruption come from the deeply rooted reasons of differences in social statues and income. In particular, the government officials and higher supervisors in national company can’t avoid being corruptive due to their high social statues and unlimited power. Under the drive force of interest, these people will absolutely corrupt. No matter how hard ordinary people try to finish their work well, they can only earn limited income. This inequality contributes to the serious income gap between people. Some people’s peace hearts are disturbed by the unfair phenomenon. Once they have the chance to make money, how could they let it flow away? Consequently, corruption and bribes prevail like the plague.

Because the benefits from corruptions surpass people’s normal income significantly, everyone wants to fight for official jobs and political power as a way to collect money. Under this system, who will skip the tradition of offering bribes to get positions and power?

Anti-corruption must be based on a system of supervision. When the supervise institutes and legal independence become possible, the system of anti-corruption is built up. Chinese government must find the reason for corruption from its system and eliminate the soil for growing corruption. Only then can corruption get resolved from its source.
