Guilan Zhang: Chinese Government Should Strictly Implement the Environmental Laws

Though Chinese government is becoming more and more aware of environment protection and the initiatives of environment treatment have reached some success, many industrial companies still make pollution as usual. The pollution in some areas even becomes increasingly severe. The reason is that some government officials only put the environment protection and saving resources on mouth, but do not take practical measures. Some local governments ignore some seriously polluting cooperation out of economic consideration.

To change the government’s attitude, it not only depends on more emphasis on punishment on pollution, but also depends on people, organization and laws to do supervision. Therefore, the administration of environment protection laws will be more effective.

Strictly implementing environmental laws is the best way to promote structural reform of industrial companies and realize resources saving, energy decreasing, and pollution control and science progress. Only by strictly implementing environmental laws and punish pollution, can environment be truly protected.
