Li Chen: Chinese Government Must Respect the Birth Rights of Women

The essence of the autocratic government in China is despising the people. This government looks down upon people and enslaves them, which lead to long standing lack of human rights among Chinese people, especially numerous Chinese women. They have no position in family and are discriminated in society, such as restrictions on going to schools and taking employment. To control the growth of population, the government compels women to do abortion and miscarriage with violent measures. Chinese women go through a lot of bitter sufferings which can only be swallowed silently. Because of the absence of speech freedom in the society, Chinese government is capable of trampling human rights and laws to the most.

Chinese women are part of the weak minority. However, they all have dignity and never deserve to be despised. They are destined to have basic human rights. The government officials use violent means to treat and damage women relentlessly in the name of birth control, and punish them under the crime of “over birth”. The consequence comes out as a destructed ecological balance of population structure and in turn contributes to serious social problems such as conflicts between soldiers and ordinary people. All these problems surpass the bottom line of a civilized society.

As a member of China Democracy Party, I hereby appeal sincerely: Chinese government must respect the birth rights of women and cease implementing the birth control policy which severely persecutes women and infringed their basic human rights.
