Zhoucai Jiang: Chinese Government Must Emphasize Environment Protection

Though the economy of China has been developing at high speed for long and the living conditions of the people also have improved, the living environment of all residents are becoming more and more severe. The environment pollution in regions of China is increasingly serious and has become the foremost problem influencing people’s living and body health.

Years before, China started its “Reform and Open up” aimed at pursuing fast economy growth and enhancing living standards of all people. The government paid much attention on the investment in economic construction and ignored works on environment protection, which led to a lack of funds in environment protection. In addition to these, the awareness of environment protection promotion also needs to be strengthened. Many industrial companies chase after economic benefits regard less of possible environment pollution. Some local governments and officials even resist administration of environment protection laws.

The grave situation of environment pollution in districts of China is caused by the imbalance of policies. At the time of economy development, environment protection also occupies an important place. This task not only has advantages on the healthy progress of Chinese society, but also benefits all human beings.
