Xiaoxian Yang: Can’t Let the Environment Keep on Deteriorating Anymore

Since the “Reform and Open Up” of China, the environment of China keeps on deteriorating because of the deficiencies in government policies and initiatives. The exceedingly exploited resources and developed economy have caused a series of ecological crisis: the glacier retreatment, rivers drying up, grassland degradation, wetland decrease, dessert enlargement, species yearly deduction and accumulated garbage in the cities and rural areas. What impress people most deeply are: No matter where we go, the air is pungent, water is smelly and the rice and vegetables are full of poisons.
The environmental pollution in China has caused international attention. Faster as the China’s economy progress is, more serious the problems of environment pollution are. China is a country with developed economy and large population, the government must take the responsibilities of protecting the environment. Hope the Chinese government can be stricter in legislations on environment protection and put human beings first. Moreover, implementing the concept of scientific progress, promoting universal ideas of environment protection and pay attention on environment protection are the responsibilities of a giant country.
