Zhao Yang: Critic on the So-called “Crime of Intentionally Overturning Nation” Used by CCP

Every time I saw that excellent Chinese who have independent thoughts and brilliant ideas get arrested by CCP authority at “Crime of Intentionally Overturning Nation”, I was extremely angry at the dirty, autocratic and brutal deeds of CCP. The internal lawyers who insist on human rights have tried their best to defend these conscious people. The law terms they cited are abundant and the defending words they articulated are rigorous. However, the CCP authority still sentenced these innocent people without reasonable basis. These are merely open persecutions, nothing related to laws.
When talks about “Crime of Overturning”, the explanations of countries worldwide are all as follows: Using violence as means to promote or directly overturning a nation’s power. On the contrary, all behaviors that accord with constitution and laws, taking democratic and nonviolent means to critic an administrative party and a present government cannot constitute a crime. Moreover, these are normal actions in a country’s politics and are the rights of citizens as well.
It’s stupid for a namely “Communist Country” with world’s best social system to make all people eligible for the crime of overturning the nation. Ordinary people have to behave with caution to avoid becoming guilty of this crime. Reviewing cases of “Overturning Crime”, most prisoners only wanted to organize a party or criticized the party and government in articles or on internet. Can these be attributed to the crime of overturning a country? This is a big joke!
However, China today still has prisoners who are sentenced because of their words. This is a big shame foe China, even for all human beings! Presently, there appear many different voices in China’s reforms. Some are mild and some are pungent. These are normal phenomena. As a matter of fact, varied ideas are beneficial to China. Real patriots will speak out for better progress of China. The pity is our administrators hate to resolve problems by public discussion. Instead, they take advantage of violence and tyrants to eliminate any dissents. Their behaviors have made countless tragedies in China and caused disaster to the whole country. What else can they bring?
In my opinion, China as a country facing tragedies and disasters, all people in this horrible country have to stand up positively to fight for our freedom, instead of waiting for the bless of freedom.
