Guanglei Shi: Opening up Internet Benefits the Development and Progress of Chinese Society

Global internet spreads information quickly and conveniently. The internet contributes a lot to the economy development of the world and provides convenience to the dissemination of ideas of democracy, freedom and civilization. However, the internet strongly impacts CCP’s autocratic power. CCP government prescribes that democracy, freedom, human rights and legislation as forbidden topics in China. According to CCP, controlling internet will benefit the stability and safety of nation.
Among all countries limiting internet freedom, China is the most notorious one. The government of China even barely admits their shutting up of many websites. It filtrates unacceptable contents of democracy, freedom, human rights and so on. Chinese people daring to violate bans of government will possibly be arrested. In China, countering internet rules made by government will also lead to sentence in prison. In these years, the number of people arrested never decreases. I myself as member of China Democracy Party and China Democracy World Union, strongly protest CCP’s blockade on internet and strongly appeal CCP government to open up internet!
