Zheng, Xiaolu: One-party Dictatorship Causes the Severe Polarization in China
郑晓路(Zheng, Xiaolu)
Three decades have passed since the economy reform of China. The economy has developed and some people have become wealthy. However, the social polarization is enlarging more and more, which is of adverse nature. In contemporary Chinese society, a portion of population become rich, but the richness is not due to indigence or wisdom of the people. They collect money by fortune opportunities, corruption, bribery and extortion. Large numbers of officials in government make deals between money and power. They are good at playing, gambling and prostituting. The whole society of China encounters unprecedented problems of corruption. CCP authority’s one-party dictatorship adds up people’s sufferings. The facts have proved that the economy reform in China sacrifices the benefits of ordinary people.
The severe polarization of income in China is not caused by history or market. It is the consequence of CCP’s one-party dictatorship. In Chinese society, the poverty of ordinary people is caused by the confiscation done by the government and officials. Some people make their money by utilizing political power to robber the wealth produced by people.
Looking around today’s Chinese society, what has the “Open Up and Reform” brought to people? That is officials in all levels of government take advantage of power in hands to appropriate the wealth made by people in last few decades and put the negative effects of reform on the shoulder of people. All of these are the main reason for the severe income polarization in Chinese society.
