Song, Dajuan: Let Children in Poor Villages Get Education
宋达娟(Song, Dajuan)
The unbalance in education is an obvious problem for China. Seen from the education conditions, economy more developed cities have much better education than the poorer villages. No matter at aspects of teachers, education funds or facilities, schools in villages can’t compare with those in cities. Though children in cities and villages enjoy the same rights of obligated education prescribed by laws, the education system in China allows the existence of inequality. Children in rural areas can’t enjoy the obligated education they deserve according national education system. Many children in remote areas face the risk of dropping school.
The source of this problem is the disadvantage in China’s education system. It needs reformation.
Firstly, education should have the value that human is the center and must be emphasized. Cities and village must be treated fairly. Government must increase the transparency of education fund distribution, so that unfair distribution can be avoided.
Secondly, a supervision system is necessary. Government officials and education administrators can’t collude to corrupt and embezzle the education funds.
Thirdly, a true obligated education is required. Policies must focus more on the respectively undeveloped rural areas. Children in poor villages are able to attend schools. They should enjoy equal rights to accept obligated education.
