Power has close relation with corruption. The power without supervision will become absolute power. Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. Power under a democratic system will be strictly supervised by all people and is also restricted by laws. Power under these conditions is not able to trigger severe corruption. However, power in autocratic system is totally different. Government officials in a autocratic system have power unlimited by laws or supervised by people in their hands. They can use the power at will and make deal with money. Therefore, corruption grows.

At time when CCP hasn’t become the administrating party, it promoted democracy and freedom and oppose autocracy and corruption. At that time, Chinese people suffered lots of pains because of the war. They hoped a better government to appear on stage, so they all held a beautiful dream upon CCP authority. They wished CCP could decide the future of China. After CCP came into power, it transferred into the most corruptive party in the world in just 6 decades. China becomes a nation with unprecedented corruptive nation.

Chinese people hate corruption and want the government to eliminate corruption. In 1989, students representing the wishes of people appealed the government to punish corruptive officials and implement democracy reform. This large scale of democratic activity ended up with the blood spilt on Tianmen Square. The “June 4, 1989” represents a waking nation and the nation’s decision to oppose corruption. Nowadays, 2 decades have passed. The facts have proven that corruption is still prevailing in Chinese society. Democracy and freedom are still far way from ordinary Chinese people.
