Gao, Yongping: Chinese Government Must Emphasize Environment Protection

China has become the region with most severe environment pollution in the world. The industry scale increases on the one hand. The environment keeps on deteriorating on the other hand. Many kinds of natural disasters appear. There are several aspects of signs:
1. Water resources shortage intensifies. China is the nation with most serious water shortage in the world. Because of the emission of industry waste water and living waste water, main water branches in China are polluted seriously.
2. The water and soil washing away is in bad situation. Forests are degenerating. Sand storm become severe.
3. Industry pollution becomes more and more severe. It’s a main killer of environment. Some industries in China, such as paper manufacturing, machine making, steel making and construction, emit waste water, air and solids into environment and harm it seriously.
The severe environment situations in China are caused by the imbalance of policies. When develop the environment, Chinese government must emphasize environment protection and strengthen environment legislation. Therefore, local governments will put environment protection into all levels of work.
