Wang, Duo: Open Up Speech Freedom in Chinese Society

The basic features of enjoying speech freedom are as followings: All media is open. News reports are open. People’s voices are hearable. With these conditions, people could speak out their thoughts in different ways, on problems such as government’s administration ability, officials’ working capacity, the morality in politics and so on. People can express their opinions freely and even put up criticizes. Because in a society with speech freedom, anyone has the freedom to criticize others and also has the freedom to defend himself and refute criticizes.
In China, it’s a society without speech freedom. People can’t publish their thoughts on government, not to mention criticize government. No matter by speaking out or writing articles, all talks not corresponded with government’s rules will be tightly controlled. People daring to resist will be investigated. Those who meet serious situation will be placed a big hat of disturbing social stability and solidarity on their heads. In contemporary China, there is almost not any different voice in society.
CCP government should completely open up media and press, so as to allow people to see genuine reports. By opening up speech freedom, people can speak out without any concern. Therefore, society can revive its original appearance, avoid the faked peace and extinguish the ugly and ridiculous in life. Thus, the democracy reform in China will be promoted. Chinese people can see the possibility of changing their destiny through endeavors and the hope of living a peaceful and happy life.
