Li,Yuming: The Chinese People Need Freedom of Speech.

The Chinese society does not have freedom of speech. Common people cannot express their personal opinions freely, not to mention talking about any content regarding democracy, freedom, and human rights publicly. Even though the Chinese civilians possess a right to free speech, which is stipulated in the constitution; however, it has never been implemented in real life. The Chinese government puts the public on their opposite side. Such a society cannot be stable and harmonious.
In China, it is the government and officials that do not implement freedom of speech. In order to deceive the public, the government only allows the media to give positive comments in report, showing prosperity everywhere , as if the public is leading an affluent life in a harmonious society, and hiding the real undeveloped aspect. Only the happy aspects are reported.
The Chinese government should learn from the democratic countries and open up freedom of speech step by step. The Chinese public needs freedom of speech. In addition, the Chinese media needs freedom of speech more to reveal the adverse aspects truly and then really promote the development of Chinese society in the civilized direction.
