Song Jimei: China Should Strengthen Environment Protection

China is an autocratic regime under the leadership of the CCP. The Chinese economy has developed rapidly since the reform and open policy. However, severe problem of environment pollution restrains further economic development of the Chinese government. We can not deny that the present Chinese economy has developed with tremendous effect. But environment pollution has become more and more serious, causing extensive attention of other countries and organizations in the world.

The Chinese economy has developed while the surrounding is deteriorating. Governments and officials of different levels do not pay attention to environment protection for the sake of completing output value and pursuing benefit. Due to ineffective decision making and strategy implementation of the government as well as shortage of capital input of environment protection, some enterprises dump waste gases, water and residue into the natural environment directly, which leads to vicious circle and makes environment pollution more and more severe.

Environment is not only beneficial to economic development in the long run, but also advantageous for healthiness of the public. As the government of a big economic country, the Chinese government should strengthen work regarding environment protection, which is the premises of economic development. The Chinese government should be a responsible one for environment protection.
