Cai，Hongying:Chinese Society is in Urgent Need of Freedom of Speech.

In China, there is a TV program called "Telling the Truth as It Is", which is to ask people to tell the truth. However, there is a strict limit on sections of the theme in this program. This theme must be within the limit regarding the lives of people in general. If corruption, insufficient work of government officials, the country＇s political and social system, or democracy and freedom is involved, it will not be able to be carried on on the television. After all, the Chinese public does not have freedom of speech.
Everything in Chinese society is decided by the government. The government has reported only good aspects of the society for a long time. They say good things as they are and say bad things into good ones, deceiving the Chinese public via lies. Even the government can not tell the truth. How can there be a guarantee for the public to tell the truth? For instance, the CCP used force to repress the June 4 Activity in 1989. However, the government said there was no blood and no death in it at all.
The public has realized freedom of speech is a basic human right. Only after striving for freedom of speech can the Chinese public tell the truth. Only by this way can there be a hope for China and the Chinese people.
