Liu, Zanchun: Only by Restricting Power can Corruption Be Prohibited

Abusing power, which has spread across the Chinese society, is the biggest characteristic of economic reform by the CCP government for decades. As long as authority is controlled, money will be collected fast and effectively. Power has become the most effective tool of embezzlement and corruption for the Chinese officials in the process of political and economic reform. The rich become rich because they possess authority to corrupt. The poverty of the poor is due to their lack of power to corrupt. This is a dominating feature of the current Chinese society.
Nowadays, the CCP government monopolizes all authorities in the Chinese society. It has implemented paternalistic management. The public can not supervise the government. Neither can they supervise officials. The mass media dare not reveal dark aspects of the society. Even though the CCP government calls on the public to supervise the government, it is impossible to actualize.
Officials of the CCP collude with each other and, harbor one another and conceal corruption problems. Common people are not able to know illegal activities of officials. In order to solve corruption issue of the Chinese officials,we must depend on a social system based on democracy and freedom.
