Liu, Ying: Using Rule of Science to Attach Great Importance to Environmental Protection Issues

China＇s environmental problems is not optimistic. The area of industrial accidents and environmental pollution is a serious threat to people＇s health and safety. In addition, environmental pollution and deterioration of the environment has potential ecological crisis, which mainly shows in the degradation of forest and wetland, reduction of the number of species, desertion of land, increase of natural disasters, and so on. China＇s environmental issues attract widespread attention from the international community.
General worsening of the environment has become increasingly intolerable. Air, water resources and food are contaminated. Environmental accidents happen frequently. The Chinese government must pay attention to environmental protection and strengthen environmental protection legislation and investments.
Environmental protection cannot stay only in advocacy; instead it must have a substantive action. We should make full use of the radio, television, newspapers, magazines, Internet and other media, and organize avocations on environmental protection knowledge at all levels and in all forms to promote environmental protection awareness and to raise public awareness of the environment. We should guide the general public to voluntarily cultivate healthy and civilized forms of production, living and consumption to reduce and prevent pollution from occurring and spreading. As the Government, it cannot only pursue economic benefit. It should be in accordance with the law of development of science to attach great importance to environmental protection issues.
