Guo, Jinyu: Free Election Can Promote China's Democratic Reform

There are many issues regarding Chinese democracy reform. The most basic, most important and most central work of democratic political reform is to enable the common people to directly, universally and freely elect government officials at all levels of the government. Because only by this way can the public agree with it and can importance of the country’s political reform be reflected. Officials at all levels of the government elected via this way will serve the public. Only a government composed of officials by the common peoples’ direct, universal and free election can be supervised by the public, receive restriction of the law, strongly limit corruption behaviors of the officials and promote the Chinese society’s health and development.
Government officials implement direct election, which will not provide the dictator or speculator with any opportunity of being elected. Result of the democratic political election is up to the amount of voting tickets. The Chinese government should cultivate and support election awareness of the common people. Only by direct, universal and free election can the process of democratic reform of the Chinese society be promoted.
