Wang, Baoqun: We Must Find Cause of the Corruption from the Institution

One common characteristic of the officials of the Chinese government is that they are willing to do anything for money. For the sake of money, the Chinese officials fully utilize their authority to exchange power for money, which causes corruption. For many years, corruption has brought unfairness and injustice into the Chinese people’s life. Even thought the government took actions to fight corruption, corruption is deteriorating and corruption cases are still increasing. Nowadays, life of the common people in China is getting harder and harder, which has inherent relationship with serious corruption of the government.
Since China＇s economic reform and opening up, “No official is uncorrupted” is acknowledged by the common people. Corruption of the Chinese officials is very severe, which is a recognized fact. The number of people involved, high degree of the corruption, and the wide scope of corruption is rare. Because of serious corruption and embezzlement of some local officials in China, school buildings were collapsed and flood dams were shattered, which triggered public confrontation between the public and the government.
As a government, it is not enough to have only determination to seriously punish corruption. In addition it must find origin of corruption from the institution. A reasonable social system is decisive for the success of anti- corruption.
