Wang, Rui: One-party dictatorship is The Protection Umbrella for Authority and Corruption
王瑞(Wang,Rui)
There is a popular saying in the Chinese society, “People laugh at people in poverty instead of prostitutes.”The corruption problem in China has a wide-spreading and popular trend. At present, corruption has been accepted by the Chinese society and tolerated by the common people in China. Corruption has been the common norms and practices for some people, particularly government officials to comply with together. Over the years, the Chinese public has developed a common approval of corruption and has been used to it. They not only do not blame it, but also learn from it, which is abnormal.
The government officials control public authority and participate in various acts of corruption driven by common private interests. Due to the relative interests, this specific group of corruption and embezzlement formed an interest union, in which the corrupted officials protect each other. A community of common interest and risk which involved almost everyone participating in corruption was formed.
In the view of corrupted officials, law does not punish the majority of popularity if everyone is corrupted, including you and me. They even name this group corrupted activity as seeking common benefit; therefore, there is no so-called corruption according to such an explanation.
At present, such a group corruption is more dangerous than previous individual corruption. This kind of corruption has demonstration effect, which resulted in that corruption spread quickly in Chinese society. Authority without legal constraint leads to corruption. The CCP’s one-party autocracy is the protection umbrella for all kinds of authority corruption. In order to curb corruption, we must end one-party dictatorship.
