Wang, Xiaodong: Chinese Government Must Emphasize Education Reform
王晓东(Wang,Xiaodong)
The establishment of economy system and economy development in China has proposed new requirements for education system reform. Government must change its way of education administration system. The main methods of education administration in present China are government’s control and CCP’s one-party ruled education ways. This way of administration formed and developed under the planned economy era, which is the so-called nation’s planning directed mandated by all levels of CCP’s government. However, along with the economy development in China, the disadvantages of education administration under CCP’s one-party dictatorship become prominent. Government sets up too many education departments and designs too many education administration officials. A lack of effective supervision over education department officials, too much intervenes from government, unbalance on education fund distribution and unreasonable cooperating relation between schools and government lead to the result that contemporary education system in China doesn’t coordinate with economy development.
For a long time, Chinese society emphasizes man rule and ignores compulsory education. In education area, government also does so. As a government, it must firstly strengthen education legislation to make education laws, principles and regulations coordinate with the direction of education development. The outlines, systems, funds and personnel in education works must have reliable laws. Education corruption must be eliminated I order to confirm ordinary development of education.
To guarantee reasonable distribution of education funds, especially in the area of mandatory education, Chinese government must treat education as a public career. Making sure the education funds and its increasing, the compulsory education can be smoothly implemented.
China has large area and has the largest amount of population. Because of CCP’s long-term one-party dictatorship, economy, education and culture lose balance. There are large gap between education basis and conditions in all the areas. In order to accelerate high speed education reform and promote health development of China’s education. There must be education reform, so all poor children can accept good compulsory education.
